Tennessee senators praise Alabama HQ for Space Command

Tennessee U.S. senators are praising the choice of neighboring Alabama for the headquarters of the new U.S. Space Command.

Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-Brentwood) and Bill Hagerty (R-Nashville) say the decision to locate the headquarters in the Tennessee Valley will bring skilled jobs to the region. Huntsville is about 20 miles south of the Tennessee state line. A new Mazda-Toyota Manufacturing plant is also under construction in Huntsville. The $2.3 billion facility is projected to employ about 4,000 people once it goes online next year.

Here’s the joint release from Blackburn and Hagerty:

NASHVILLE, TENN. – Today, Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after the announcement that the United States Space Command will be headquartered in Huntsville, AL.

“The new Space Command Center in the Tennessee Valley is an important investment in both the future of our military and in the skilled workforce of the region,” said Senator Blackburn. “This base will bring over 1,600 new jobs in the area and more as the command grows.”

“The new United States Space Command headquarters in the Tennessee Valley will be the primary entity for providing strategic direction to the U.S. military to deter space-based threats globally,” said Senator Hagerty.  “Space Command’s future headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama, will bring hundreds of new jobs to Tennesseans and further our state’s rich history of contributing to our national defense.”

We all know they are lying and will change their mind as soon as they encounter someone not happy with their decision. They are on record though as once being for what they say even if they do something different .

Well there is the HB0021 ” – requires this state to refuse to consent to receive any refugee.” THE SCOTUS has already ruled that the Federal Government decides where refugees will be located (which is mandated to the federal government in the constitution). Good call SCOTUS.

And the ever present danger to the US Constitution being changed by the democracy (we are a republic), via the HJR0008 – ConCon call.

Before I shout for joy about any new industry moving to this area I would like to know the ideological make-up of the workforce. I fear this space command place is going to attract engineers and computer nerds, the otherworldly types who are all too easy prey for leftist demagogues or will vote for a Biden rather than a Trump because Trump doesn’t brush after every meal or similar frivolous reason even though they are allegedly Republicans.

I prefer Tennessee stick to agriculture and heavy non union industry with their masses of good patriotic farmers as well as agricultural and blue collar workers. I didn’t always feel that way, but after seeing what happened to Georgia and the devastation in the Austin Texas area because the powers that be in those areas welcomed the wrong kind of industry I think agriculture/heavy non union industry would be best.

Farmers have been devastated in the last 4 years. They received huge subsidies in 2019 from the federal government and Double that amount just ahead of the 2020 Elections (imagine that !). Fed handouts have grown to 40% of their income this year, the highest in decades.

So….it appears that were it not for the hefty subsidies farmers would not have voted for Trump in 2020 in nearly the same numbers having seen the outcome of his whimsical trade policies.
Patriotic, yes. YOUR version of patriotic ie Trumpidians?

You characteristically approach this in a Trumpcentric manner while I am simply thinking ahead trying to prevent the “Californing” of Tennessee. Given my political goals we are now living in the most perfect of times. The Republicans have a super-majority in the General Assembly and the Democrats are incapable of electing anyone statewide and they can only be elected at all in our few liberal ghettos. Further, over the past few years the newly elected Republicans are almost always more conservative than their predecessors. It can’t get better than this so naturally I don’t want change, but unfortunately change is inevitable. I simply would prefer the Republicans control the change while they are in power and not just stumble into change. I simply would like the immigrants into this state to demographically be as potentially conservative as possible.

Whatever would ever make you think that most engineers are liberal? Or that a vote away from Trump was liberal?

Rank and file engineers in all disciplines, electrical, mechanical, computer, chemical are mostly Thinkers. Meyers Briggs Thinkers. In addition they are grounded in the practical. Add to that they are mostly organized list makers who live to “plan their work and work their plan”.

A FEW are visionaries, but not many. They are the Zuckerbergs the Jobs, the Dorseys, etc. A few are risk takers with the charisma to sell their vision. Those tend to be the liberals.

The country is in a total mess, high unemployment, homeless #’s rising and we have had 4 Million new cases of Covid in the last 19 days and Stuart thinks that “given HIS political goals, we are living in the most perfect of times.” I guess those 25,000 National Guard troops are not in DC for a vacation. I find it hard to believe any true American would judge these days as being even close to “the most perfect of times.” Evangelical conservatives seem to have a strange view of the times we live in.

No Taxpayer, those 25,000 National Guard troops are in D.C. because the liberals are so great obeying Rahm Emanuel’s plea to “never let a crises go to waste.” Dozens of U.S. cities recently were the victims of riots that the local leftist governments almost encouraged, and certainly did little to quell and I was amazed to see conservatives, and President Trump, lose their voice and make as little as they possibly could out of the mayhem as they hid in the tall grass.

The presence of these National Guard troops are a gigantic political stunt Taxpayer and as a leftist you apparently are impressed by the stunt as you were supposed to be. These poor guys mobilized for a typical liberal nothingburger designed to impress the easily impressionable that there is a danger of attack by a significant number of the 75 million who couldn’t bring themselves to vote for the demented Big Guy for President or who simply like Trump. The opening act presaging the investigations and attempts to suppress the free speech of those of us on the right. While things are great here in Tennessee, you’re right Taxpayer your leftist friends are destroying, “fundamentally changing” as they would say, this country with accelerating speed.

They “lost their voice” Stuart b/c when they had their voice back in Sept-Nov of 2019 they endlessly praised lawlessness and rioting and looting and destruction of private property by people who had a grievance with the government.

Looting burning vandalizing of private property, owned by innocent fellow citizens, was cheered on in tweets and speeches for 3 solid months by Trump. Hong Kong rioters carried American flags in gratitude for our president egging them on as they destroyed private property of people who had done nothing to provoke them.

You are the only person that I know of personally or through my reading who thinks that the riots in Hong Kong and the reactions in the U. S. thereto had the slightest effect on anything that is happening in the U. S. Actually the silence among Republicans in the face of the riots (aka “INSURRECTION”) last summer was due to (1) the default position of the centrist/tepid conservative wing of the Republican Party is to hide in the tall grass until the Chamber of Commerce gooses them into action, and (2) the inexplicable fear of too many in the conservative wing of the Republican Party to be deathly afraid of being called a “RACIST” by spokesmen on the left if their criticism of any minorities become to strong. This is what causes the Republican Party to be as ineffective as it is and to be so unfit for purpose as either a governing party when they are in control or an opposition party when they are not.

Jesus Christ, Stuart. You are probably the biggest liar I’ve ever heard. It’s the National Guard not the Army. Bill Lee sent Guard troops to DC. Are you saying the states (of which a majority are Republican controlled) are part of a liberal hoax?

You need to lay off Perv Lassiter’s moonshine.

Or are you playing the part? Trying to get back in the good graces of Q after you saw 60% of Republicans support a violent overthrow of the USA government? They don’t like you either way.

You travel in the world of Trump supporters who dare not point out anything hypocritical that he did. And you consider anything non-laudatory that is brought up as Micro-analysis.

The principle under examination here is simple: is it OK to destroy the property of innocent Civilians when you have a grievance against the government~ no matter where it takes place. I say “no”. Trump said “Yes”.

Of course, given all this and more, I am the ONLY one.

You’re a woman of rigorous self-righteous consistency MARLE with a particular emphasis on “SELF-RIGHTEOUS” which is nice in carefully controlled doses but I repeat, you are almost alone to even thinking that encouraging or failure to discourage the riots in Hong Kong sullies one’s credentials to condemn the riots in the United States as the Republicans were so slow and tepid in doing. Sometimes life is simply unfair and inconsistent I’m afraid.

I don’t believe that a person who purposely exist in sycophant bubbles seek out reading material that does anything but confirm their misconceptions. It doesn’t matter what the masses understood about Trump’s support for Looters and Rioters. What matters is the degree of hypocrisy in Trump as he blasted non-stop the rioting of blm during the summer. The capitol is not Private property (although we, as taxpayers, will bear the cost of restoration and prosecution of the Trump supporter thugs).
