Tennessee legislature shuts down for rest of week

Heavy winter weather is leading to the closure of the Tennessee General Assembly for the rest of the week.

The House announced it will extend its bill filing deadline until the close of business on Feb. 24. It had previously been set for Wednesday.

The Senate bill filing deadline was Feb. 11.

Due to continuing severe weather and adverse road conditions, all @tnsenate meetings are cancelled for the remainder of this week. Members do not need to travel to Nashville. Staff is advised to work from home. The Cordell Hull Building will be closed. Stay safe everyone!
