It would be VERY helpful to know how many of the individuals who are counted in the number who died, had health other health problems at the time they tested positive for the virus. Thousand have died every year from the other flus that have plagued us each year. What makes this one so much more dangerous that we are willing to put so many people out of work and impact the economy so negatively?

250 deaths due to traffic fatalities over the same time period in Tennessee. Time for some valid perspective to this virus and stop the heinous destruction of businesses and livelihoods. At the stated number of positive test results, that equates to 0.0825 PER CENT – less than 1/10th of a percent of the 6.8 million Tennessee residents! We’re sacrificing the masses – deliberately through executive orders!

Because this one is so contagious, Lance. More contagious than the flu, and people who are asymptomatic are spreading it.

IF this one were “so contagious” every Kroger, Target, Walmart etc worker who has been exposed daily since January should have this. Any mother from the 70’s knows what “VERY Contagious means when an entire neighborhood of children got chicken pox within a 2 week period. Doesn’t take that long for a VERY Contagious virus to spread,

Test the Workers who interacted with the Public , All of Them, for antibodies. Then we will actually have data we can work with.

One way or another this virtual house arrest has got to stop sooner rather than later or we will turn the upcoming recession into a depression. I know how excited out leftist friends are about about our living under all of those government commands and controls but they can’t expect the good times to last forever.

Let those who can’t expect to get anything worse than a bad case of the flu resume life as normal. Let those who are particularly vulnerable continue taking the necessary precautions until at least a cure to prevent serious illness requiring hospitalization is found (which seems to be in the offing). Let’s resume life, even if it means the re-election of Donald Trump.

It would also be helpful to know how many have recovered. There aren’t actually 5000 people currently suffering from coronavirus in TN.

Dr. Mercola is a very reputable physician who bases his postings on factual information. In an e-mail he sent out today he said –

    STORY AT-A-GLANCE

In Italy, more than 99% of fatalities from COVID-19 occurred among people who had underlying medical conditions
The finding came from an examination of 18% of Italy’s COVID-19 deaths, which revealed that only three people who died — or 0.8% — had no underlying conditions
Among Italy’s COVID-19 fatalities, 76.1% had high blood pressure, 35.5% had diabetes and 33% had heart disease
Underlying health conditions like heart disease and diabetes are linked to “poorer clinical outcomes,” such as admission to an intensive care unit (ICU), a need for invasive ventilation or death, among COVID-19 patients.

High Blood pressure should not be a death sentence with Covid. HOW high matters. 70% had high blood pressure tell me very little about the contribution that covid made in their death.

Of real interest to me is going to be the contribution to death made by putting so many people on Ventilators rather than other less-invasive oxygen delivery systems.

In NYC there are Slightly fewer cases; Slightly fewer ICU admissions; But significantly fewer Ventilators being used AND the Death Rate has decreased significantly (compared to cases and ICU admits).

Until you have tested negative Twice in a row, you are not considered to have recovered. At least that was the standard applied earlier (things change a Lot !) so that is why the numbers don’t add up in real time.

250,000 filing for unemployment in 3 weeks. 109 deaths, not DUE to COVID-19, but had positive results of COVID-19 upon death. Over 250 deaths due to traffic fatalities over roughly the same period of time. Rescind the draconian executive orders that have ruined thousands of Tennesseans lives – potentially irrecoverably! Thank God that this virus is NOT as deadly as originally and continually portrayed. Poverty is a price as well and it’s time to restore some reason to the governmental response.

When a person with severe underlying conditions (kidney failure, morbid obesity, heart disease) dies tests positive for a strain of the Annual flu and it hospitalized for it…….haven’t they always been included in the annual flu death numbers? If so (and I think that’s how we get to the figure of 70 Thousand dying of the flu in 2018) then we should count them the same way for covid, right?

I you are in fatal car crash and you test positive for covid I don’t think they count you. There’s a difference.

Good reason not to have given them the ammunition necessary to cause a prolonged shut down. When you proclaimed Drs Fauci and Birx brilliant, when you said stuff like “when warm weather comes in April it will disappear like a miracle”, when you agree “that the virus will set the Timetable” then you have handed the left all the rope they need to hang you. Stupid moves are what has gotten us here. And “Yes” I know the Left benefits mightily from prolonging what Trump first started. They are indeed going to “let the Virus set the agenda”.

‘Going outdoors is what stops every respiratory disease’

A veteran scholar of epidemiology has warned that the ongoing lockdowns throughout the United States and the rest of the world are almost certainly just prolonging the coronavirus outbreak rather than doing anything to truly mitigate it.

Knut Wittkowski, previously the longtime head of the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design at the Rockefeller University in New York City, said in an interview with the Press and the Public Project that the coronavirus could be “exterminated” if we permitted most people to lead normal lives and sheltered the most vulnerable parts of society until the danger had passed.

“[W]hat people are trying to do is flatten the curve. I don’t really know why. But, what happens is if you flatten the curve, you also prolong, to widen it, and it takes more time. And I don’t see a good reason for a respiratory disease to stay in the population longer than necessary,” he said.

“With all respiratory diseases, the only thing that stops the disease is herd immunity. About 80% of the people need to have had contact with the virus, and the majority of them won’t even have recognized that they were infected, or they had very, very mild symptoms, especially if they are children. So, it’s very important to keep the schools open and kids mingling to spread the virus to get herd immunity as fast as possible, and then the elderly people, who should be separated, and the nursing homes should be closed during that time, can come back and meet their children and grandchildren after about 4 weeks when the virus has been exterminated,” he added.

So why didn’t we do that? Who put Drs Fauci and Birx up on stage with a microphone and called them brilliant when they called for the exact opposite of that?
