Former Ambassador Bill Hagerty has won the U.S. Senate race in Tennessee, according to The Associated Press.

Hagerty will succeed U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Maryville) who is retiring after three terms.

“Congratulations to Bill Hagerty on tonight’s impressive victory. I have been proud to support Bill to occupy the Senate seat that Howard Baker, Al Gore, Fred Thompson and I all have held,” Alexander said in a statement. “He will be a terrific United States Senator for all Tennesseans.”

Hagerty faced Democrat Marquita Bradshaw, a Memphis environmental activist, in the general election.

Most of the action in the Senate contest came during the Republican primary, in which Hagerty prevailed over Vanderbilt surgeon Manny Sethi by 11 points after a spirited campaign featuring heavy outside spending.

Well, Lamar thanks for the years of your moderate leadership. I can tell you one thing, if Hagerty takes a page from your book of knowledge, he won’t be our U.S. Senator very long. But, if he legislates like he promised to in his campaign ad and speeches, and takes a page from Marsha Blackburn, he’ll enjoy multiple years representing conservative Tennesseeans.

Well said Victor!!! Conservatives have to watch Hagerty like a hawk and if after two years he doesn’t at least duplicate Marsha’s Heritage score of 85% we have to begin to save our money for the great Mark Green (Heritage-100%!) to challenge him in the 2026 Republican primary.

This race never was in doubt. Bradshaw, who won the primary only because her name starts with a “B”, was a joke from the get-go.

Time for a thorough housecleaning at the TNDP, starting with new officers (especially a new chair), followed by a restructuring of the party to eliminate and replace the worthless, unproductive, insular, naval-gazing, self-aggrandizing nitwits on the TNDP’s Executive Committee.

I know how disappointed you must be over the results of yet another election so you aren’t in the be of moods but now you have really gone too far Beatrice!!! Of course, I can’t be sure because the gentleman is wearing one of those masks that turn you on so much but I believe THAT’S THE LEGENDARY WARD BAKER. Ward Baker, the man responsible for so many of Marsha’s decisive victories as well as the nomination of our Senator-elect Bill Hagerty by a comfortable majority in the last Republican Primary. In other words, Ward is a manager of elections responsible for the election of some of our finest public servants. So long as we have to wear those masks Beatrice, I suggest you take more care in calling people you don’t know and can’t even identify a “bafoon.”
